We had a couple of inches of snow yesterday followed by temps in the single digits. Stopped at the atm on the way to work today - drivers window wouldn't budge, tried the passengers, it wouldn't move either. Is this a common problem? I just got rid of my Honda Civic with 162,000 miles on it and the power windows always worked no matter what the weather!

I think it depends on the weather conditions, lets say it was snowing with the car at a little over 32 degrees, the snow melts and the water gets all over the windows and such, then the temp drops and the water freezes. I got this theorem this weekend when my dad tryed to open the driver's window in his avalon and it moved half an inch and stopped, same with the passanger window. It snowed at 33 degrees and then the temp went down to about 28 degrees and that's when we got into the car.
Yep. Common. Wait until you get some real snow and you won't be able to close your doors during winter. The windows freeze with ice so the required gap that is made by their movement is not there.. so you can upen the door by bending the window inwards.. but the same thing has to be done when you close the door; too bad this is hard to do from the outside when you are sitting inside--- impossible.

i used to do this on my talon, since it's frameless window it might be simiar, but then again mine wasn't sophisticated enough to do the air gap seal thing..
simple: open the door all the way wide, then slam the door shut as hard as you can. repeat a couple times and the ice blocking the window passage should've broken/fallen off or atleast loosen the window enough for you to lower

My Coupe windows move up and down half an inch when you open and close the doors. Two days of the week, my car sits outside and in this cold NJ/NY weather my windows still haven't frozen. I guess I am just getting lucky as on the days that my car has to sit outside, I carefully open and shut my doors when I get to my car the next day, just in case the window does freeze.
Push, maybe it is something wrong with your car. You are the only one who has ever had this problem that I have heard of. I don't have the problem and I thought maybe it was just that the windows freeze to a soft-top more easily or something, but Tweet just said that she never has this problem. Maybe you should try applying RainX or something to your side windows that will help them from freezing.
