Sparco Strut Brace

I put an aluminum Sparco brace on my '94 325 convt. this morning. Then I tried to shut the hood and it latched on the driver side. Thankfully, I did not put the hood down with much force or it may have ended up bending something. I found that the passenger side of the hood did not want to close because the brace was hitting the interior lining. It was a pain to get the hood unlatched from the driver side. Anyone have a round aluminum Sparco brace on their 6 cyl. e36? I will do some modification to the pad if anyone has a good suggestion because I can't ship the brace back until after Monday. How about modifying the pad for any other add on part that hit, is there a good way to do it, like does heat mold the pad? How about other braces, do they hit the interior pad of the hood? Thanks for help

Thanks for wakin' me up to check the sticker for the right name, Big Daddy. Do you have a photo of the brace on a E36 and of the hood pad on a car with another one of those braces? Sparco brace was not cheap by any means, $240.

I have never heard of Spenco, do you mean Sparco? Either way if it does not fit without modifications, then it is a poor design and I would return it. Try a Dinan, Racing Dynamics, BMP Design, Baverian Auto, or other quality made brace.

Thanks for having me check the name, it is not Spenco, it is Sparco strut brace alum with screw adjust and I got it from Rocky Mountain Motorworks so one would think it's the proper Sparco. All tags say E36 but that could be wrong, too
Thanks for info, that added a couple of names I hadn't seen before.

Thanks for the links, I even looked at the first site this morning before I put the one on my car. Here is the picture of the brace from Rocky Mountain web site. It looks just like the one laying on the floor that I took back off the car.
It sits further forward in the bay and higher than any of the other company's I've looked at in the last hour. The bend in the tube goes toward the front of the car and it can't be mounted any other way because of the 3 hole per tower design.
Maybe it fits 318s I see some places list two model numbers one for 6 cyl and one for 4.
