I remember a while back that you purchased a G35 Coupe. How is it so far? Have you posted any comparsions or pros/cons? Does the engine feel that much more powerful than the 330 (280hp v 225hp)? Also, how do you like that shifter? I remember the last time I sat in a G35, the shifter was so short, too bad I didn't get to drive the Infiniti [:(] .
And one more thing. In a previous thread, you said you liked the "extra play" in the clutch pedal for use in parking lots. What is this is used for? I can't find the old topic. It was the one where I got yelled at like crazy for giving the G35 some compliments [B)] [paranoid] .

Unfortunately, I have not gotten my car yet. It comes either this week or next week (probably this week). Waiting for it is just insane...I am going crazy!! I went for a great test-drive about 1 or 2 months ago, from that test drive I can tell you that the engine was pretty good. It was a power-house and I found it clearly quicker than the 330Ci, but it did not come close to matching the 330Ci's exhaust note. The shifter was superb...it was clear and easy to shift and the shifts were incredibly close/tight. The BMW was notchy and much longer, but it was not bad at all...it was clear and I was able to do quick shifts. The 330Ci was better than the G35 Coupe in terms of driver-vehicle communication. All in all, the G35 Coupe is a great machine at a great price...it is a bit bland in terms of being "in sync" with the car, compared to the BMW. I think if I had the $44K or so to spend on the 330Ci, I would have gone with the BMW. But my price range was limited to about $38K or $39K, so I went with the G35 Coupe fully-loaded and I am not looking back. I will post lots of pictures and more details on the drive of the G35C once I get it...I can't wait !!!!!!!!! [?|] [?|] [?|]

I agree with Mr.Elussive's summation of the G35 - I've been impressed with my close friends new purchase of a G35. It is a lot quicker and the more powerful engine does make a difference. The shifting is great.

My friend waited six months for his 6MD Fully loaded Blue G35 (without the tail) and it was well worth the wait. He just finished breaking it in the first 1k miles and when he lets it rip, oh man.

Mr. Elussive - I hope you are already registered on freshalloy.com.

stickfinger, I signed up for freshalloy.com and g35driver.com forums, but they suck. All the guys there are assholes and I love this forum, so I'm just going to chill here. I called up the Ramsey Infiniti dealership and the guy gave me the VIN # of my car and he said it comes in the first week of August, maybe this Friday (if not, then definitely next week). So basically, I just have to keep playing the waiting game. [?|]

True - they do need to grow up on freshalloy - there are some interesting posts (one right now talks about how there's this huge movement across the nation of people trading in their M3's for G35 coupe - lol!!)

Picts of my friends new ride (6SpeedManual, 18-wheels, W rated tires, nav system, premium sound) :

Wait until you start your new G35C for the first time. It purrs. I was there when my friend started his for the first time and it sent chills down my spine. Personally, I think its awesome that BMW finally has some competition out there - consumers will benefit in the end.

Wow, his car looks beautiful! It looks like he got it without the Aero Package (rear spoiler and underbody defusers). I prefer the car without the spoiler, but I did not have much choice, mine is coming with the Aero Package. But I actually like it now, so it's okay. And I am happy that I am getting my first color choice of Black on Black. I'm going to take like 208732875 pictures when I get it...that is, of course, when I'm not driving it.
JamieD22, as my Jetta (often referred to as the Shitta) is a poor shitty piece of shit, I am trading it in to the Infiniti dealership. The car is on a lease so I have to pay about $3,300 to get out of my Jetta ([:0] ) but the dealership was nice enough to roll that penalty into my lease of the G35 Coupe, so it only adds $100 per month to the lease price. Since you're getting black on black, you had better get TINT. It looks pimpin. The aero package doesn't ruin the car, but it doesn't really add anything in my opinion. Some tips (you might already know this):

- make sure you know how you want your car settings to be since dealer may charge you if you want them changed later. I can get the full list for you, but they range from - doors lock while you're driving automatically, doors lock after you get out of the car after a set amount of time, automatic light turn on, etc

- be prepared to be pulled over just because your car looks and sounds fast, not because you were actually speeding - radar detector = good investment

- when the dealer calls, be prepared to call them right back - you might be able to get the car later on that day, so hopefully they have a cell phone to reach you at

- you might want to go early and get most of paperwork done close to delivery date so you're not at dealer for an hour with new car sitting outside. When my friend did this, he picked up his car, and only had to do DMV paperwork since everything else was done

Thanks for the tips, stickfinger, but I'm pretty sure I'm all covered. I am going through an auto purchase consultant company, so when the car comes, the Infiniti dealership delivers the car to my door and I just sign all the lease papers there (err, my dad does). But the contract and all the other things are all prepared and ready, so all my dad has to do is sign his name a few times and the car is mine. Also, they are going to take my Jetta with them. I have an Escort Passport 8500 radar detector in my Jetta, so I am just going to transfer that into the G35C. Once I can bear not having the G35C in my posession for a few hours at a time, it will go in for a 15% tint all around.
One thing I have a question about:
What is this list about the car's settings, exactly? Where can I obtain it or whatever, so I can specify the settings about auto-locking the doors, interior lights, etc.??
The car MIGHT come in tomorrow, actually, but probably next week. I HOPE I have it for the week-end, heh.

that G35 is really nice. i like the optics. technic wise i have no idea, i don't know nothing about that car.

i only know that it is a shame we do not have those in europe. at least not in the parts that i know. it would really be a nice add-on to our street life.

Thanks for that information, stickfinger, I appreciate that. I am going to decide on the settings I want and when the car comes in, I will have them set it up that way. [thumb]

Glad you can use the info - my friend just printed out the list and circled what he wanted and handed it over before taking the car - I don't know why car companies don't make it standard to "ask" before handing over the car - maybe they figure the defaults are good enough and would love your money if you want to change later. Seems silly to me. I still want to change the unlock feature on my BMW, but I don't want to pay them to change it. Might try to slip it in for free during a mandatory maintenance or something like that.

Excited for you man. Can't wait to see picts. -Stink

stinkfinger, you said your friend printed the list out...is there some sort of list somewhere on the Infiniti web site? I am curious as to where you got this list from. [:0]
