Hi,
I am writing in to ask what can I do with the LED inspection lights on my dash and the MPG indicator.. I drive a 1989 E30 316i (English model) The lights are stuck on 'inspection' constantly (sometimes it switches over to 'oil service') and even though I have tried to reset them it still dont work.. Also my MPG indicator is just moving down to 10MPG when ever I put my foot on the accelerator.. I was told that I would have to replace the whole dash but am wondering if there is an easier option..

Am open to ideas..

Thanks,
Jimi...

This is usually caused by the batteries on the service indicator board going bad. They are NiCads and do not last forever. Get new batteries from the local electronics store and solder them in or you can replce the entire board but that is a lot more expensive.
