I just got my DTM style front spoiler put on my E36 M3, cool right? Well it looks wierd to me but maybe its supposed to be that way. I'll have to take a picture, but I'll explain in the mean time.

It looks like it is pointing upwards slightly in the middle and flat on the sides. Is the middle front designed to have air go under the car and the sides of the front to catch the air?

Anyone know how the aerodynamics on these work before I go complain? I thought the whole thing would just be pointing straight out in front, not with the middle part pointing up.

Thanks guys

i don't know how your spoiler looks like, but the system how they work at real race cars fits your descrption. the aerodynamics has to channel air under the car and accelerate it to the end where the diffusor let's it pass away again. the air in the back is faster than the air that enters at the front. this way the car gets sucked to the ground.
the spoiler you have immitates this channel effect by allowing the air to pass under the car in the the center of the spoiler. the side parts that are lower give downforce as the air can not pass underneath but has to go over it. while being redirected to the top, there is force applied that presses the spoiler and the car attached to it to the ground.

but still, a picture will show if yours is mounted correct and stuff.
